rekindle the glow . . .

Couples therapy without my partner

I would like to go into couples therapy but my partner / husband /
wife doesn’t….....
A frequently encountered situation.
And the reasons may be many.

One of the partners may experience the relationship as more satisfying
than the other because more of his/her needs are being met.

One of the partners may have a negative perception of going into therapy or may see it as a personal defeat.
One of the partners may already have decided to end the relationship
but can’t get up the courage to say so.

Regardless of the reason, it can be beneficial for oneself –
and often also for the relationship – to visit a couples therapist.

It is always a good idea to talk things over with one’s friends,
but some things can be difficult to talk about to them.

You get many insights and “ah-ha” experiences in therapy, even if
you go alone – insights that make it possible for you to change your
behavior so that your relationship becomes more satisfying for both
of you and love and caring can return.
